2024 United States Mint Coin Releases
With the distribution of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray quarter into circulation beginning on January 2, the United States Mint inaugurates its schedule of releases for the year 2024. Throughout the month, the U.S. Mint will offer collectors the chance to purchase products from four different numismatic coin programs.
2024 American Silver Eagle 1oz Proof Coin
The 2024 American Eagle 1oz Silver Proof Coin becomes available on January 16, allowing collectors to acquire this beautiful coin individually or as part of the Mint’s annual Congratulations Set. This coin, struck at the West Point Mint, continues the tradition of the iconic Type 2 reverse design by artists Emily Damstra and Michael Gaudioso. The updated Adolph A. Weinman obverse design and reeded edge with anti-counterfeiting variations make this coin a numismatic treasure. There is no mintage limit for this coin but an order limit of 25 per household is in place.
The 2024 Congratulations Set includes a card and one Proof 2024 Silver Eagle for $82.00. This set has a product limit of 55,000 and comes with the option of free shipping through the U.S. Mint’s coin subscription service.
Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Commemorative Coin Program
Launching on January 4, the 2024 Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Commemorative Coin Program commemorates the abolitionist’s birth. The program features a $5 gold coin, a silver dollar coin, and a clad half dollar coin in both Proof and Uncirculated finishes.
$5 Gold
The gold $5 coins honor Tubman’s achievements during the U.S. Civil War and have mintage and product limits of 50,000 across all finishes. Pricing is based on the Mint’s current market pricing grid.
$1 Silver
The silver dollar highlights Tubman’s work on the Underground Railroad and is available in both Proof and Uncirculated versions. With a mintage limit of 400,000, this coin celebrates a significant piece of American history.
Half Dollar Clad
The clad half dollar coin pays tribute to Tubman’s service in the Union Army. With a mintage limit of 750,000, this coin is a reminder of Tubman’s incredible contributions to the nation.
Three-Coin Proof Set
The three-coin Proof set includes the $5 gold coin, the silver dollar, and the clad half dollar in Proof finishes. Limited to 5,000 sets, some will contain hand-signed Certificates of Authenticity by Mint Director Ventris C. Gibson.
2024 Native American and American Innovation Dollar Coins
Native American Dollar – Centennial of the Indian Citizenship Act
Starting on January 29, the 2024 Native American dollar commemorates the centennial of the Indian Citizenship Act. The coin features Glenna Goodacre’s iconic Sacagawea design and highlights the dual citizenship of American Indians. Collectors can choose from various product options, including rolls, bags, or boxes.
American Innovation Dollar – Illinois
Released on January 25, the 2024 American Innovation dollar honoring Illinois showcases a significant achievement from the state. With a common Statue of Liberty obverse and a unique design on the reverse, this coin celebrates the innovation and history of Illinois. Similar to the Native American dollar, collectors can purchase rolls or bags of the Illinois Innovation dollar.
