Washington, DC, Jan. 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The United States Mint (Mint) will accept orders for the 2024 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (W) starting on January 16, 2024, at noon EST. Collector’s Edition

Since 1986, the American Eagle Silver Proof Coins have been produced at the United States Mint at West Point. These coins are collector versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins. In 2021, the design of these popular silver collectibles was updated to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle Coin Program.

Design Details

Just like the original bullion coins, the obverse of the American Eagle Silver Proof Coin features Adolph A. Weinman’s depiction of Liberty in full stride, enhanced to reflect Weinman’s original vision more closely. The coin’s reverse shows an eagle landing with an oak branch, designed by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso.

Enhanced Security Features

In addition to design updates, the American Eagle Silver Proof Coins incorporate enhanced security features and advanced minting technology for high detail and anti-counterfeiting measures. These features make the coins more challenging to replicate, aligning with global anti-counterfeiting efforts.

Pricing and Availability

The 2024 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof (W) is priced at $80 and can be ordered using the product code 24EA. It is part of the Authorized Bulk Purchase Program, allowing for larger orders. For more information, visit the United States Mint catalog site.
