United States Mint Announces Sales for 2024 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins

April 28, 2024 – WASHINGTON – The United States Mint (Mint) announces the opening of sales for the 2024 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins on May 2 at noon EDT. Orders are limited to three items per product code per household for the first 24 hours from the on-sale date and time.

Collector Versions of Bullion Coins

Struck in 22-karat gold at the United States Mint facility at West Point, these popular coins are collector versions of the official United States Mint American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins. The 2021 redesign of the reverse and obverse of the coins added new features and enhanced details, including an anti-counterfeiting reeded edge variation on the one-ounce coin.

New Design and Enhanced Features

The reverse of the coins now features a new portrayal of an eagle, while the obverse showcases Liberty as envisioned by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, with restored legacy details for a closer reflection of the original design.

Product Options and Limits

The 2024 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins will be available in five product options with corresponding price points, product limits, and mintage limits for each option.

Packaging and Presentation

Each individual coin is encapsulated, packaged in a black presentation case, and housed in a box with the United States Mint seal on the lid. The coins and sets also come with a certificate of authenticity featuring matching imagery.

Pricing and Availability

American Eagle Gold Proof Coins are priced based on the Mint’s Pricing of Numismatic Gold, Commemorative Gold, and Platinum and Palladium Products table. Pricing may be updated weekly on Wednesdays according to the precious metals market.

Authorized Bulk Purchase Program

Some of the American Eagle Gold Proof Coins are included in the Authorized Bulk Purchase Program, giving Authorized Bulk members early access to certain products with possible premiums. These early released products are not eligible for discounts.
