2024 American Silver Eagle “W” Proof Congratulations Set – Complete Set for Collectors

Introduction

Gift-giving has become easier with the release of the 2024 Congratulations Set from the United States Mint. This set, part of a series dating back to 2013, will be available for purchase starting at Noon ET on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the unchanged price of $82.

Increased Set Limit

This year, the set will have a limit of 55,000, a significant jump from last year’s 40,000 limit. The previous set is no longer available, making the 2024 set a highly sought-after collectible.

Special Features

Within the 2024 Congratulations Set, customers will find a 2024-W Proof American Silver Eagle. This coin, struck at the U.S. Mint’s West Point facility, contains 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Additionally, the same coin will also be available individually without the specialized packaging for $80, with no set mintage or product limit.

The proof Silver Eagle in the set is encapsulated in a presentation folder, allowing both the obverse and reverse of the coin to be visible. The folder includes space for a personalized message and features the U.S. Mint’s certificate of authenticity. An outer sleeve showcases the coin’s specifications.

Design Details

The obverse of the Silver Eagle features Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic figure of Liberty, first seen on 1916-1947 half dollar coins. In 2021, the design was updated to better capture Weinman’s original vision, depicting Liberty in full stride with symbolic elements like laurel and oak branches.

On the reverse, an eagle is depicted in mid-flight, carrying an oak branch. Inscriptions on the coin include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

Additional Specifications

The Proof American Silver Eagle has a denomination of $1, a proof finish, and a composition of 99.9% silver. It weighs 1.000 troy oz. (31.103 grams) with a diameter of 1.598 inches (40.60 mm). The edge is reeded, and it bears the mint mark “W” for West Point.

Ordering and Limitations

The 2024 Congratulations Set can be ordered from the U.S. Mint website starting at Noon EST on Jan. 16. For the first 24 hours, orders are restricted to three sets per household, so collectors should act fast to secure this unique set.
